When I first got in DARE, I thought, “This is a joke. No one will ever listen to this guy.” I later figured out that I was so wrong.
I would describe DARE to you, but there is not a way to describe DARE. DARE is what ever you think it is. A joke, a good idea, a waste of time, etc.
“The best way to quit drugs, is to never start.” That is something our DARE instructor, Deputy Thomas told our class. I do not know if my class mates remember that, but it is something I will never forget.
The most fun I ever had in DARE is DARE FAMILY FEUD. It is where you have to answer a lot of questions that you learned in DARE. The group who wins gets smarties.
DARE has really been a learning experience to me. I could not even start to tell you all that I have learned in DARE.
One step does not mean much, but a million steps in the right direction means a lot. I can not get every one to stop doing drugs by myself. You can make one of those steps. Tell people the dangers of drugs. Tell them what they can do to you. You can save someone’s live. Be a good influence to your peers. Don’t let them suffer from drug abuse. Save them.
I, Justin James Payne, pledge not to do drugs until the day I die, and I also pledge to do every thing in my power to get people to stop doing drugs.
What do you think I think about DARE now?

Wow that really makes someone think about the whole D.A.R.E. project thing. I think that if I made one of my family members read this they would get off drugs for good. Thanks!
When we first started D.A.R.E my thoughts were completely opposite of yours. I thought Deputy Thomas would teach us a lot of things and that it would inspire us not to do drugs. I just hope I’m right.
